Cruising and sailing with the family as a Digital Nomad
I’m thrilled to share with you an extraordinary chapter of my life. This year, as a digital nomad family I embarked on a unique journey, choosing to live aboard the luxurious Cunard Queen Elizabeth cruise ship. If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to swap a traditional home for life at sea, join me as I dive into the details of our daily life aboard this magnificent vessel.
Choosing a Life at Sea
I, Brandon Green, along with my family, made the life-changing decision to live on a cruise ship. This unconventional lifestyle choice was driven by our desire for adventure and a different kind of home life. Living on the Cunard Queen Elizabeth isn’t just a residence; it’s a continuous journey across the seas.
Affordable Luxury Living
One of the most surprising aspects of our new life is the affordability. For under $2,000 a week, we enjoy comprehensive amenities that include our accommodation and unlimited access to a variety of foods. This cost-effective approach to luxury living is something I never imagined possible until we embarked on this journey.
Definitely it is a great holiday/lifestyle to combat the price of living!
The Splendor of the Cunard Queen Elizabeth
Our current home, the Cunard Queen Elizabeth, is a marvel of modern cruising. The ship boasts spacious, unobstructed cabins with balconies, offering us breathtaking views and a comfortable living space. Every day feels like waking up in a new, luxurious world.
Family-Friendly Adventures
The ship is incredibly accommodating for families. My 3-year-old son is having the time of his life, especially with the daycare services provided on board. It’s a relief and a joy to see him so engaged and happy in this unique setting.
Unmatched Facilities and Freedom
What sets this experience apart is the range of facilities and the freedom we enjoy. From internet access and a well-equipped library to a state-of-the-art gym, every need is catered for. Plus, the lack of strict luggage limits, unlike airlines, makes this lifestyle all the more convenient.
A Community of Seasoned Travelers
The demographic on board is primarily older, with the average age around 65-70 years. While there are fewer children, it creates a peaceful and mature atmosphere, perfect for those who enjoy the company of seasoned travelers.
Health and Comfort in Harmony
Despite my Multiple Chemical Sensitivity and Electromagnetic Sensitivity, I’ve found the air quality on board to be exceptionally clear, contributing positively to my health and comfort. Our living space is well-equipped and versatile, with a sofa bed in the lounge where I often sleep.
